Can I have an inscription or note put on the back of the plate? Yes! Just let me know what you'd like on the order form that accompanies your payment. The amount of information you can have on each plate will depend on the size of the plate you choose. The order form will let you know how may charterers or spaces will fit. Can I use a black & white photo? Yes! Black & white, as well as sepia images give your keepsake plate a vintage feel. Some of the the best plates I have done were created from older, less than perfect images. There is a precious charm in an older photo that is timeless. Is a digital photo better? The quality of the image on the on the plate is determined by the quality of the original photo and the amount of enlargement that may be needed. A high resolution digital photo will produce a better quality plate than a low resolution photo. However, resolution is not everything! Older photos are the one's that often mean the most. Don't be afraid to use the photos that are special to you - no matter the resolution, as these are the pictures that capture and freeze a special moment or person. What type of digital photo do you use? I use JPEG. (jpeg. or JPG) format. A 300 dpi is best. How big an image can I upload? The largest picture I can use is 8" x 10" or 20MB. I have a digital photo I want to use, but how do I know it's the right size? Knowing the actual size of a digital photo can be confusing. Here is a site that makes it easy to calculate. All you do is plug in the pixel dimension and it will tell you the actual size of the photo. How do I find the pixel dimensions? Open the photo on your screen. Right click and a small window will open and at the bottom look for "Properties". Click on "Properties". Another little window will open with tabs across the top. Click on the tab labeled "Details". Click on the "Details" tab. You'll see a list of information with small headers. Look for "Image" and under that header it will list the dimensions. Can I mail my photo to you? Yes. I will return your photo in it's original condition to you with your plate. Please make sure to put your name on the back of the photo so I can match it up with your order and payment. Be careful and do not press too hard when writing on the back of your photo so as not to damage it. Also, make sure to send your picture in a photo mailer so it will arrive undamaged. Send your photo to: Cindy Hoddinott-Lester Whimsical Bliss Studios 1279 Silica Court Hemet, CA 92543 I have an old photo I'd like to use, but I don't want to risk mailing it to you - what can I do? I understand! These photos are precious. Simply scan your photo into your computer. Once scanned in you can upload the digital copy to the order form. Will you crop the picture to fit my plate? Sure! I adjust with the digital picture to fit the space on your plate. If you send a full picture and I will be cropping a portion, make sure to let me know the area you want on the plate. If a large area is to be cropped, I may send you the cropped area for approval. I work each order on a case by case basis. Please keep in mind that a large picture will be sharper if it is made to fit an area a bit smaller. A small picture enlarged will loose clarity and may actually appear blurry.
